The Giraffe's Dark Ritual
“Pan Left” is a game where the improv actors stand on stage in a square shaped formation, with two actors taking their place in the front of the stage. The other actors line up behind the others, completing the square and awaiting their turns. The first two actors then receive a suggestion in the form of a “Relationship” for the scene, and perform the scene emulating the relationship given by the audience. When the host says “PAN LEFT” all the actors rotate around one space so that we have different combinations of actors at the front for different scenes. Typically, The Hotspurs! assign the other pairings suggestions based on a “Location”, “Emotion” and “Animal”; with the “Relationship” being first in the order.
The square will rotate 3-4 times, progressing each scene when they are looped back around, with the game ending when the final scene hits their button.
